What is the hard palate repair surgery and recovery like? Just like this bear hunt.
Can't go over it.
Can't go under it.
You have to go through it.
There are some things you just have to wade through. This is one of those times. Holly is a strong willed little one. But thanks be to God, I am stronger willed than her. Even though, she doesn't want to drink anything at the moment, I know she has to and will keep offering yummy choices. Like chocolate Silk, since she can't have ice cream or yogurt!
.ps Yes, after 5 days of post palate repair, I do look like Mr. Rosen in the video, slightly unkempt and in need of a hot bath: -) But Holly drank 2 ounces straight from her bottle this morning with just a little resistance! Success.

My son Daniel had tonsils and adenoids out when he was about 4 or 5. He took it terribly, and would not drink anything at all... not even popsicles. I hovered nervously for almost a week, worried about dehydration and whether he needed to go back for an IV. It was not the ordeal that Holly has to go through over the course of years, but only a temporary difficulty. The nurses on-call were probably as relieved as I was, hoping I finally might stop calling them!
It's such a relief when they finally do take something and turn that corner. You have gone through it! Congratulations! When can you take a nap? :)
Is Holly using arm restraints? How is she sleeping at night??? Just curious! Keeping you all in thought!
